| About Our Business quoin media is the business of creating and building value with international media companies. Our relationships range from "pure" consulting assignments to early- stage investment or sometimes, a mix between the two. We do this in a number of ways. No two projects are alike and neither are the assignments quoin undertakes for a client. For some examples of past work successfully completed, have a look here. About Our Management Drew Kaza is founder/Managing Partner of quoin media. He has spent 20+ years in global media businesses, ranging from publishing to film, as well as music, television and new media interests. He is also Chairman of UK-based B7 Productions, a leading independent TV/film production. Prior to founding quoin media in 2003, Kaza was the London-based CEO of Vulcan European Media Holdings and the Hospital Group Ltd. Working for Microsoft co- founder and investor Paul Allen, he led Vulcan's investment in UK pay sports channel North American Sports Network (NASN), and also oversaw early-stage development of the Hospital, a unique multimedia facility in London's Covent Garden, which encompasses HDTV studios, music facilities and museum space. From 1999 to 2001, Kaza was the top-ranked American within the prestigious British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) as Managing Director of the Internet and Interactive Division at BBC Worldwide, the corporation's commercial arm. He sat on the board of BBCW in addition to running a division with annual sales exceeding $40m and a head count of 400 across 5 businesses. He also negotiated the sale of a minority stake in e-commerce portal beeb.com for $50m (still the largest single outside investment in a BBC enterprise in history). During the 1990s, Kaza was President of United International Pictures Pay-TV Group, a joint venture of Hollywood studios MGM, Paramount Pictures and Universal Studios. He served on the board of Latin American Pay TV (LAPTV) and helped launch Cinecanal, a Latin American pay-movie channel and led licensing negotiations and managed pay-TV output deals to over 30 countries. Later, he founded mediaplex ltd., a UK-based media consultancy that is the predecessor company to quoin media. Between 1995 and 1999, Kaza did work for 16 clients on four different continents (for more information, see here). Kaza's rise as media executive started in 1987 when he launched pay-per-view programming for Comcast Cablevision. He later moved to the UK with Comcast in 1990, as the company's second employee in Europe. About Our Partners As needed, quoin media occasionally draws upon the experience and/or partners with other local/ international teams and resources, such as Amsterdam-based Rights Stuff or US/UK consultants with whom we have long-standing relationships. |
